The boys met this past Saturday morning to take the next step in their Gardening Merit Badge. Pastor Todd was kind enought to tak etime to come out Friday night and prep the area. AS ALWAYS, the boys did great. They all took a turn on the rototiller and some (Sean and Jon) seemed to enjoy it a bit too much...CHECK THE PHOTO PAGE! The boys vegetables will be harvested and given to the food pantry.
Watch for more updates as I will continue to photograph and send the photos out.
We are thrilled to welcome Joseph, Jon, and Chris to our troop! Joseph is our newest member that crossed over on February 23rd. Jon & Chris are joining us from another troop. Chris has also taken on the role of Senior Patrol Leader. With his experience in scouting he will be a great asset to our troop. He began leading the boys at our last meeting and he is doing a great job. Also, Mr. Greenback has agreed to be our Assistant Scoutmaster! Again this is wonderful news. We will be meeting to combine our efforts in planning the best scouting program we can for your boys.
I NEED SLEEP!!! AAAHH!!! Just kidding! What a great time. All the boys seemed to have a lot of fun. I believe this is going to become a yearly event. The Webelos that we invited also said they had a lot of fun. CHECK OUT THE PICTURES of our LONG night!
Most of us are still recovering from our first 10 mile hike. (I AM) With one down, we need four more 10 mile hikes and one 20 mile hike to complete our Hiking Merit Badge. HOORAY! Check out the pictures on the picture page!
Troop 55 had their first campout in Kankakee. It was a blast. The boys were great! They were able to start their Fishing Merit Badge thanks to Mr. Colquitt. He put on a great class and the boys named him the Fishing Master. After cooking some lunch they treked out on a dangerous adventure through raging rapids, past the skeleton, to the mysterious cave.....Okay it was a stream, a fish skeleton, and a four foot deep cave, but let the boys tell their adventure while you check out the pictures!
